![]() Ourside of hammerdins and whirlbarbs the d2 classes had a lot of viable builds for each class. Everyone runs the same 2 builds for class for the most part. The gameplay is stunted from lack of personal creativity also. None of the bosses in game felt the same as taking down baal or diablo or the ancients from d2. Ill give you fast paced but it isnt nearly as exciting as d2 was for me. it is not super smooth, tell that to hardcore season players who lost their fucking toon because bnet dropped them. I better stop before I get into my full D2/D3 rant, but in my opinion, the game is more enjoyable when the journey feels significant. D3 to me is a noisy arcade that replaces the carefully crafted suspense of exploration with the anxiety of confusion generated by non-stop, visually incomprehensible combat. D2 was was a vast improvement in the same vein. Back then, I saw it as a revolutionary approach to the translation of tabletop RPGs to video games. I was in college when the first Diablo installment was released. The fact that it is a chore in D3 is one of the more disappointing aspects of the game.īut it's possible that the preference is partly generational. It seems like everybody just wants to jump straight to mathematically optimized builds and godly items.īecause of a number of differences in gameplay and design (which I could probably write a book about), I find the leveling process in D2 enjoyable. This sort of mentality about Diablo is where I have a serious disagreement with a significant portion of the r/Diablo community. ![]() Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Thread
